EDIT: The module's maintainer, skein, was kind enough to review the video and he highlighted that this module attaches a class to the sticky element which makes styling it easier.

EDIT II: Since the recording of this video I've found drupal.org/project/floating_block which provides similar functionality and is worth your consideration, as well.
